In the 1970s and 1980s, symbolic AI dominated the tech world, where the computer learned to perceive its surroundings by developing internal symbolic representations of the problem and analyzing human judgments. These hybrid models will seek to take the benefits of symbolic AI and combine them with deep learning to provide better answers.
Andrew Ng emphasizes how valuable it is to deal with challenges for which we only have small datasets. Hybrid models, according to the researchers, could be a better way to approach common-sense thinking.
System 2 Deep Learning:
Experts feel that system 2 DL will enable data distribution to be more generalized. Currently, the systems require datasets with a comparable distribution to train and test. System 2 DL will accomplish this by utilizing non-uniform real-world data.
System 1 works automatically and swiftly, with little or no effort and no sense of voluntary control. In contrast, system 2 devotes attention to the mentally demanding activities that demand it, which are commonly connected with subjective experiences of agency, choice, and concentration.
Neuroscience Based Deep Learning:
The human brain is made up of neurons, according to several neurology research studies. These computer-based artificial neural networks are similar to those found in humans’ brains. Scientists and researchers have discovered thousands of neurological cures and ideas as a result of this event. Deep learning has given neuroscience the much-needed boost it needed a long time ago. It promises to do so in the future with the use of even more powerful, robust, and sophisticated deep learning implementations.
Use of Edge Intelligence:
The ways of obtaining and analyzing data are being transformed by edge intelligence. It moves procedures from cloud-based data storage devices to the edge. By bringing decision-making closer to the data source, EI has made data storage devices somewhat independent.
Deep Diving Using Convolutional Neural Networks: 
CNN models are widely utilized in computer vision tasks such as object recognition, face recognition, and picture recognition. The use of Deep Learning to improve the efficacy of current NLP systems and allow machines to interpret client questions more quickly is a primarily researched field currently.
Vision Transformers
The Vision Transformer, or ViT, is an image classification model that uses a Transformer-like design to classify image patches. A picture is divided into fixed-size patches, which are then linearly embedded, position embeddings added, and the resulting vector sequence given to a conventional Transformer encoder. The traditional strategy of adding an extra learnable “classification token” to the sequence is employed to perform classification.
The vision transformer’s greatest significance is that it shows that we can construct a universal model architecture that can handle any sort of input data, including text, image, audio, and video.
Multimodal multitasking transformers:
The goal is to create a Unified Transformer model that can learn the most important tasks in a variety of domains at the same time, such as object detection, language comprehension, and multimodal reasoning. A UniT model encodes each input modality with an encoder and generates predictions on each task with a shared decoder over the encoded input representations, followed by task-specific output heads, all based on the transformer encoder-decoder architecture. With losses from each job, the full model is jointly trained from start to finish.
The employment of DL systems is tremendously beneficial. In the previous few years, they’ve single-handedly transformed the technology environment. However, DL will require a qualitative renewal if we are to construct truly intelligent robots, rejecting the premise that bigger is better.
